  • Maybe time to find another league...

I am seeing lopsided deals - where brothers only trade with brothers. Where a dad has been making "friendly" deals with his son, who also owns a team in the same league.

I've been in this particular league for over ten years. But it's time to consider moving on.
I play (currently) in two leagues, but have played roto since 1985.

And one of these days, maybe I'll win. The fun is in the playing.
I like the roto format, I would be interested in a dynasty/keeper league.

I realize this is getting posted in mid-May, but if you have an owner not returning, or an owner thinking of bailing out, send me a message.

Just wondering how liberal your trade rules are. In our 41 yr NL only we are allowed only one trade with each team per year with a maximum of 2 players traded per team. We also have a salary cap. This tightening of the screws has helped with "buddy" trades.

I have also played in other leagues that have a limit of the number / amount of trades per year between teams (November through the trade deadline) and I have thought that was a good rule. There is no rule like that in place in this league.

I have not seen a league that limited the number of players involved in a deal. That's interesting.

This particular league has a "draft day" cap of $260. But once the games begin, the in-season cap moves up to $360. There is also a permanent floor of $120. to prevent full-scale dumping. But some owners want to scrap that floor entirely. I'd like to raise the floor.

No league is perfect. But this one needs work and other owners seem less interested in making changes.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I have just gone through a long-term rebuild after a 2nd place finish in 2021 (tore it down in mid-2022, when I realized I didn't have the horses), rebuilt through the rest of '22 then all of '23 and '24, and now in 2nd currently.
          It's disappointing.

If a league has an owner that has bailed (or is leaving) I would be willing to take a look at possibly stepping in mid-season.
