  • 2026 PQS Logs

Ray, I figured it's time to mention a couple of issues with the PQS Logs.

    1. The logs have been missing the Ryan Johnson (LAA, HQID: 8205) 3/30 start @CHI ever since the April 14 logs were posted. His start was in the April 13 logs, but mysteriously dropped out the next day and continues to be "MIA" to date.

    2. Jose Suarez (HQID: 5893). He was selected off waivers by Seattle, May 3, from Atlanta (DFA, May 1). He had a 3/31 home start for ATL vs ATH. The logs now incorrectly reflects his 3/31 start in the "Team" column as SEA (current team) and in the "Vs" column as @ATL (former team). Whatever anomaly causes this issue has in fact been a constant problem beginning with the 2024 PQS Logs and continued to be an issue with last year's PQS Logs as well. As with this year's Jose Suarez log entry, for the past two years as pitchers changed uniforms the PQS Logs would update to reflect the pitchers' new team in the "Team" column for all previous starts made for his former team. Moreover, the updated log entries would then oftentimes incorrectly display the opponent faced in the "Vs" column. More specifically a pitcher's home starts with his former team would also update to incorrectly reflect those same home starts as away starts versus his former team. The aforementioned Jose Suarez start as an example. This issue only worsens as more pitchers are waived or released and then claimed by another team, or traded during the course of the season.

Going forward, I'm hoping we can see a resolution to this glitch with the PQS Logs and as Barney Fife famously said, "Nip it in the bud."

NOTE: I actually have a third issue with the PQS Logs regarding the PQS scoring (specifically K/BB ratios) but will address that in a separate message.

As always Ray, thank you for your time.
