It's probably hiding in plain sight, but I can't seem to find the definitions/explanations for the top/middle/balanced valuation options.

Covered it at a high level in this site update from this past weekend, but happy to answer here if you have further questions.

Posted in the tech support forum and just saw this thread. Is the CDG down today? I entered all the league settings, keepers, saved settings, hit run and.... nothing happens. I think the fix of Top Player is a big improvement.
for example, Tucker is the top-rated available OF in my auction. previously, he was listed in my CDG parameters at 34 - and no chance, given inflation, that he only goes for that.
now, he is listed at 40, which I think he will go for simply because the likely Soto bidding frenzy just minutes earlier will leave the despondent failed Soto suitors to decide to go "all in" with the consolation prize.
and for the "twice spurned," they have to go hog wild for Tatis given that otherwise Yelich or Schwarber would be the closest remaining stars after that.
NL 11-team 5x5 auction keeper. no bench, limited 'free' moves #oldschool
our owners have a combined 340 or so years of experience in this 42-year-old league

It seems to be the keepers button. When I turn Keepers off I get results

While I've been mostly avoiding making changes to the CDG during the peak of draft season, we did make a few minor updates this week that should help with usability:
- player eligibility wasn't correct for players with exactly 5,10,20 games played at a position... it was using ">" <that number> rather than ">=". That's fixed now.
- sorting by player names in the hitters and pitchers table didn't work... now if you do that, it sorts alphabetically correctly (except for Michael A Taylor who somehow sorts as an 'A').
- we cut the names in the Grid view to first initial + last name, in an attempt to help with the sizing of the print version of that grid and reduce the names that wrap to two lines. It didn't completely solve those problems, but it helped. We have some better fixes to printing in the works, but didn't get them done in time for this weekend, so did this as an interim step.

You can definitely use the CDG for a straight draft. Just treat the dollar values as a ranking mechanism. But also check out our Straight Draft Guide.
