The Boys of Summer League (BOSL), in existence since 1994, is looking for one or two owners for 2009. We are trying to get back to 12 teams after we dropped to 10 this past year.
BOSL is:
- a mixed, rotisserie, keeper league (5 keepers from year to year)
- 25 man rosters (14 hitters, 10 pitchers, and 1 either hitter or pitcher), consisting of all infield positions, 3 OF, + 1 MI, 1 CI, 4 UT, 8 P, 2 RP, and the swing player
- no bench players (all players count for stats)
- stat categories: H, R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, IP, W, W-L, SV, K, ERA
- add/drop sessions are done every two weeks
We have a live draft every year at a location in Hampton Roads, VA. This year it is Sunday, April 5th at 1pm.
League fees are $125 per team with payouts to the top 4 finishers (with 11 or 12 teams).
New managers will get to pick 5 players from the draft pool (i.e. non-keepers from the current 10 teams) prior to the full draft starting and then will be placed in the straight draft to fill out rosters. There will be good talent available. Kinsler, either Crawford or Berkman, Lincecum, Fielder, Youklis, and Peavy are some of the players that are highly likely to be available.
3 of the 10 current managers are followers of BBHQ philosophies.
