As a Rule 5 draft pick he has to either be kept on the Padre 25-man roster all season (and active at least 90 days) or be made available to the D-backs. As of the last news I've seen on him, he is still being considered as the 2nd lefty in the Padre pen, even though he would be jumping from single-A to the bigs. I realize he isn't likely to have any serious value for 2014, but why is he not even in the Playerlink database?
