    I dont know if this is the right thread for this, but what is the S% mean for pitchers on this site?

      what does it stand for though? and is 71-72 the average?

        It means Strand Rate. It is the percentage of baserunners a pitcher allows who do NOT come around to score. Strand measures his ability to get out of bases-occupied jams (although it also captures the ability of the pitcher's successors from the bullpen to prevent inherited runners from scoring). The expected S% level is 70% for starters, as high as 80% for relievers.
