Projections vs. Custom Draft Guides

I apologize if I have opsted this in the wrong forum. We are in the middle of a draft and an owner and I were discussing Figgins and Ortiz. The player projections rate them roughly equal in 5x5 value ($22/$21). However when a custom draft guide is run using 5x5 categories Ortiz grades out at @25 and Figgins is only $10-15. Is this a positional issue or something else I just don't understand?

The values in Playerlink represent a 12-team AL-only 5x5. The mixed league projection files contain values for 12- and 15-team mixed leagues.

Sounds like you're in a mixed league. What happens there is that there are a lot more SB available in the player pool, so a one-category guy like Figgins is less valuable. Plus, his lack of contribution in other categories hurts more.

As your league gets shallower, one-category guys get less valuable.
