  • Home page - recent content

    1. It seems impossible from the home page to simply see a recent list of content. This seemed to worked all year, I think it was broken about the last week of the season.

As of today, if I click on the Tues/Mon/Fri/Thurs/Wed 'filters' and count the number of new posts in the last week (it's 8), I only see 6 of those anywhere on the home page. How am I to know to go looking for the remainder if I don't know they exist?

    2. What is the purpose of the 'Free' filter which currently seems to be the default? I am a subsciber, I am logged in, I do not want to filter paid content ever.

We're tinkering a bit with how the content is being shown here in off-season mode. But in general... the newest content is in the gallery, then from the gallery it runs down the headlines on the top right of the home page. The Days of Week box is shaded gray because it's separate... if you ignore that, and continue to scroll down to the next pic (currently the CHW org report), everything from that point down continues to be our newest content chronologically.

Everything above is the same as it was at the end of last season, except we don't have that Days of Week box defaulting to the current day of the week. (But all 8 new pieces of content from the last week are linked on those Days of Week tags, by day.) We'll get back to that at some point... but the 'free' column there is a useful hook to non-subscribers to take a look at our stuff, which is important here during sales season as well.

Im guessing the free content is to get new subs

Just like the podcast is free and is a tool to get more subs

If someone hears the podcast and goes to the free content. They can see what they could get from HQ

Hmm. Has it always run gallery -> right side -> below in chron order? I don't tend to use the gallery, I thought I could see everything just using right side and below. I don't think I missed content during the season, but maybe I did.

Publish dates (and authors) on the gallery items would make that chron flow more obvious.

Yes, it's run that way since we launched the new site.

I should mention that the exception is when we "stick" something in the gallery, that overrides the date flow I described. For instance, right now the Org Reports Primer piece is fixed in the gallery as a reference while we're running the Org Reports series, even though that piece was published last Monday.
