  • Question on Batting Stat Projections

I notice there are 3 new stats in your batting stats projection file. Qualification Games LY5, LY7, LY10. How do I interpret them - positions they qualified at over the past 5, 7, 10 seasons? Positions qualified at over LY2 or LY3 years would be much more useful than LY7 and LY10. Thanks

Yeah, we just added those this weekend and need to write up the explanations. I'll do that later today.

They are position qualifications based on last season's games played by position, using 5, 7, or 10 games as your qualification threshold. With so many leagues using different standards coming off the short season, we thought it was important to display different options here.

This will be added to the Custom Draft Guide in the next few days, too. You'll have a "5, 7, 10" game eligibility selection there.

Wow that was fast. What 5, 7 or 10 games are you using to determine the qualification?

The last games played? If you are using last 5-7-10 then it weird that someone played at a position over the previous 5 games but not 7 or 10 games.
      or
Need 5-7-10 games rather than 20 games to qualify at position?

It's how many games played at the position last year. We used to just reflect it based on 20 games played the prior year, but that wasn't going to work coming out of the short season.

So if you played 6 games at SS, you'd be listed as a SS in the LY5 column, but not as an SS in LY7 or LY10. If you played 9 games at SS, you'd be listed as an SS in LY5 and LY7, but not LY10. And so on...

Got it. My main league uses 15 games for position players, 4 games as SP and 8 as RP - but last year we used 8 for position, 2 for SP and 4 for RP. Makes sense - thanks.
