Baseball HQ has him projected for a 2.64 ERA over 58 IP. Well within the realm of possibility, especially if half of his IP come from the pen as projected. Just making sure the projection is "kosher", as it's quite optimistic.

I ended up bursting your bubble, sorry. There's an ongoing glitch in minor-league stats that feed into the projections; for guys who have very low minor-league HR allowed totals, the projection engine doesn't sufficiently normalize that. Montero's projection was being driven by giving up something like 2 HR in 50 IP, once I normalized that the bubble sort of burst. He's a near-4.00 guy now, not bad.... just not as exciting as he was this morning.
