  • Ricky Nolasco

The Forecaster projects Ricky Nolasco to 3.84 / 1.25. Today's Playerlink projects 4.32 / 1.30. What did he do since Christmas, run over your dog?

The Forecaster projection was when Nolasco was with LA.

He had four seasons of 4.50-ERA mediocrity prior to 2013 and his skills were eroding badly prior to last season.

I think it's reasonable to view him as a 4.00-4.50 ERA kind of guy, even though he has the upside for a little more. He's lucky he landed in another pitcher-friendly home park.

Thanks Stephen. I did not consider that the Forecaster must have gone to press well before he signed with Minnesota in Dec. I appreciate you setting me straight. Still, as you say, Minn is a pretty good pitcher's park.

Was he not with LA at the end of 2013?

Yep, you're right. Same explanation applies though.

Moving from the non-DH to the DH league tends to affect starting pitchers' statistics more than it does for relievers (because relievers don't often face the opposing pitcher).
