  • Making Projections Sortable

Is there a way to make the projections from the Custom Draft Guide sortable, or just the 2008 projections? I have downloaded the Excel files for the latter but do not know that program well enough to sort. By sortable,

For the regular 2008 projection files, you can click on the column headings to sort. For the Excel versions, just open the spreadsheet and do the following:

    - highlight the whole sheet by pressing Ctrl+A
    - choose Data, Sort from the top menu
    - select the 'header row' radio button on the form that comes up
    - pick which rows you want to sort by
    - press ok.

If you haven't checked it out, Patrick Davitt did an excellent series on how to manipulate the projections using Excel. You can find them at the very bottom of this page. Well worth your time.

Oh, and you can typically take the CDG output and copy/paste that to Excel. Just highlight the results in the CDG, use Ctrl+C to copy them to the clipboard. Then open Excel, and use 'Edit, Paste' to insert. (Depending on browser and version of Excel, you may have to use 'Paste Special' rather than paste. There was a thread on this recently, try a forum search on 'Excel' if you have trouble. Good luck!

If you're new the the program I also recommend,
        (a) doing this with a copy of the data ("save as") rather than the original. And/or
        (b) the Edit>Undo feature (i.e., "back" arrow)
