  • Salary cap & Hitting/Pitching split

I am in a 12 team, mixed league, 5x5 straight draft league with 5 keepers. We have 16 hitters and 11 pitchers. I want to know what to set the salary cap and the hitters/pitchers split at to best use the dollar values, draft guide, and draft grid

You should set the splits at the level that you calculate your league typically allocates its spending, from 155:105 to 190:70.

Alternatively, you could set it based on how you would like to make your picks, e.g., a LIMA strategy would be closest to 190:70.

I *think* that the traditional $260 level works best, but I'm not sure if it would make much difference in a straight draft league if you used $280.

Don't expect this to be a perfect match, for reasons explained in the Custom Valuator. For example, I find that there are typically a lot more players valued at around $2 that in reality are not worth rostering given the fact that your league will only need 324 players.
