What do the TeamLink playing Time percentages for pitchers reflect? Since HQ doesn't provide a forecast for Games Started, I was trying to use TeamLink to estimate the anticipated number of games each starting pitcher would start, but the data doesn't seem to make much sense.
Using the Cubs as an example (since their rotation seems fairly set), TeamLink lists the following playing time percentages:
Wood - 15%
Prior - 14%
Maddux - 13%
Zambrano - 11%
Clement - 10%
Cruz - 1%
TOTAL: 64%
Does this mean that nearly 2/3 (36%) of the Cubs' starts will come from picthers other than Wood, Prior, Maddux, Zambrano, Clement, or Cruz? Or does the Playing Time Percentage for the Starting Pitching role reflect something else? The percentage of the team's total innings?
Cutting to the chase, is there any way I can use the information in TeamLink (or any other area of HQ) to get forecast or estimate of projected games started for starting pitchers?
Thanks!
David
