I'm not sure how that might affect the predictiveness of BPV, but it would seem to be more descriptive of the skills that a player has displayed.

You are absolutely correct. BPV was constructed in a time before we knew about xBA and all its sub-components. I've had a "BPV makeover" on my TO DO list forever but have not been able to devote the time necessary to do it right (occupational hazard of running a growing company). It is once again on my calendar for later this summer and I hope I'll be able to get to it then.
