  • Jay Marshall Projection

I was looking at relievers and came upon the projection for Rule 5 pick Jay Marshall. With a 1.10 ratio and an era of just about 3.00, he is projected to, in 29 innings, be a $5 pitcher in 4x4. There isn't a single word of accompanying analysis. Either this projection is a mistake or I think we deserve a few words of explanation of why Marshall, even in limited innings, has one of the best projections in the AL

BPIs don't seem to support the projection. Take it with a grain of salt, and I'll ask for further explanation.

I could be that they anticipate a usage pattern where a high percentage of batters facing Marshall would be left-handed. Even with that, the projection still seems too favorable though.
