  • Projected Lima grade

What does the projected lima grade for pitchers refer to? The rest of the year? Next year? How does one determine at what price the projection refers to?

It is based on projected balance of season numbers -- stats and dollars.

Take Matt Morris. He is projected to earn $24 a 4x4 and is projected at a D+. What does the D+ mean and how is it helpful?

A good place to start is to look under the LIMA plan entry in the site glossary, found here:

The skinny is that for those pursuing LIMA, a $24 starting pitcher is NOT a good investment -- leaving approx only $6 for the rest of the staff. Of course, Morris' salary in your league is likely different, which makes context so important. If for some reason Morris is $5 in your league, his LIMA grade would be much higher.

I find the LIMA grades to be most instructive when used in one' pre-draft preparation to target players that would fit well with the overall LIMA plan.

        Hope this helps.
