  • Batting Eye calculation question

When calculating Batting Eye, the toolbox says the formula is BB/K. Does the 'BB' amount include IBB? Or is IBB tracked separately and therefore not factored in the equation?

IBB are not tracked separately. In theory, they could be, but we haven't found the need -- this isn't a gauge that demands three digits of precision.

Anyway, intentional walks indicate a talented batter (in their own way) as unintentional walks do....

I agree in some cases that IBB does indicate a talented batter but then again in some cases it doesnt. Sometimes it just indicates a weak hitter next in the lineup. Take the 8 hitter in NL. He might see more IBB because he is batting in front of the pitcher.

I guess its a moot point as IBB isnt tracked separately.

      Thanks for the info.
