I saw this question asked in the comments on the original Org Reports Primer, but no answer. If it's been answered, please let me know where.
Why does the number 2 appear in the abbreviation for a lot of leagues? (SAL2, PCL2, etc.) Are there two Sally Leagues? Are some of the leagues ranked higher than others (as in, the IL is a better league than the PCL so the PCL is 2)? (That latter one doesn't make sense as the IL also seems to be listed as IL2.)
My best guess is actually that 2 denotes a full-season league and no number means a short-season league. That seems confusing to me, but it is the best explanation I can come up with on my own. A correct answer would be appreciated. Thanks.
