  • 16 team mixed/keeper/auction league has four openings

See rules summary here. Email aar241@gmail.com if you are interested in joining.

    Owner Responsibility:
By joining the league, owners are responsible for all fees levied against their respective franchises during the current season unless either the league is terminated or such franchises are sold to new owner(s).

    Owner Conduct:
Owners are expected to remain civil (i.e. refrain from using profanity or other behavior deemed offensive by 3 or more owners) while participating in the league. By participating in the league, owners that violate this rule agree to forfeit their team(s) without restitution.

    Net Proceeds:
Net Proceeds will be distributed based upon the end-of-season total points rankings as follows: first place, 45%; second place, 30%; third place, 15%; and fourth place, 10%.
Net Proceeds = (1 - Commissioner's Stipend of 1%) x (Net Entry Fees + Net Free Agency Fees - Net Administrative Costs)

    Disputes & Arbitration:
Disputes and issues not covered by this Constitution will be initially ruled on by the commissioner.
If an owner, whether involved in the dispute or not, disagrees with the commissioner’s ruling, the issue will be sent to the Arbitration Committee.
The Arbitration Committee is to be made of three experienced owners, not including the commissioner. The committee will also include two alternate members. The alternate members will be activated in a dispute that arises between the committee members or when the original members are not available.
The Arbitration Committee members cannot rule on their own disputes.
The Commissioner cannot rule on any issue that involves himself. Any disputes that involve the commissioner will go to the Arbitration Committee.
The Arbitration Committee must review comments from all affected parties and make a ruling within three days of notification.
All rulings by the Arbitration Committee are final.
All statistics determined by the league software are final (unless otherwise indicated by the Arbitration Committee.)

    Rosters:
Daily starting lineups must consist of: two catchers, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop, one corner infielder, one middle infielder, five outfielders, one utility player, and nine pitchers.
Reserves and injured reserves may be filled without regard to position.

    Auction:
Each franchise must acquire at least a starting lineup, but not more than a full roster, at a total cost not to exceed $260.
Auction units may not be traded at any time.
Franchises must bid in minimum increments of $1. No franchise may bid on a player it cannot afford, or if it cannot afford to complete a starting lineup.

    Standings:
Franchises will accumulate total points according to their rankings, from first (10 points) to last (1 point), in five offensive (BA, R, HR, RBI, and SB) and five pitching (WHIP, ERA, K, S, and W) categories.

    Position Eligibility:
Position players are eligible at positions at which they: i) have appeared in at least 15 games during the prior or current seasons; or ii) are listed by the league software.

    Free Agency:
Franchises may spend a maximum of $200 on free agents during the current season.
The Free Agent Pool is defined as those players that are not on the rosters of any franchise and are available through the league software.
Players in the Free Agent Pool may be purchased, subject to the limits specified, in the following manner: i) a franchise may submit bids on one or more free agents at any time; ii) only bids received prior to 12 AM PST on both bidding days (determined by league software) will be considered for the next lineup period; iii) the minimum incremental bid shall be $1; and iv) free agents will be awarded to the highest bidder (in the event of a tie, the player will be awarded to the franchise with the fewest points in the most recently compiled daily standings; with respect to the first lineup period, the Commissioner may request revised bids from the franchises involved).
After the trade deadline, franchises will not be allowed to pick up any player(s) that was dropped by that same team.

    Salary Cap & Floor
To maintain a competitive league all year long we have created a salary cap and floor for current rosters (roster is defined as all players on a team, not just starters). The cap is the maximum allowable salary for the entire roster. The salary cap is $340. The floor is the minimum allowable salary for the entire roster. The salary floor is $130. Any team that violates the cap or floor will have an invalid roster and will not accrue statistics as long as their roster is invalid.

    Trades:
Franchises may trade players at any time during the current season until the Trade Deadline (as specified by the league software). Trades will become effective after a one-day peer review period. In the event that two-thirds or more owners vote against a trade, it will be nullified.
During the off-season, teams may only acquire players they intend to keep in the rule 5 draft or the additional 3 keepers allotted after the rule 5 draft.
No trades are allowed between the rule 5 selection date (if one occurs) and the date all of the keepers are finalized.

    Keepers:
After the end of the current season, franchises will have the option of signing a maximum of 8 players on their rosters to contract extensions.
If there are new owners, a Rule 5 draft will occur if the number of new teams exceeds the number of vacant teams; otherwise, new teams will select unprotected players via a 'snake' draft after the returning teams have protected eight keepers in total, but prior to the unprotected players being returned to the free agent pool.
The Rule 5 draft allows each of the returning teams to protect five players prior to the first round of the rule 5 draft. The Rule 5 draft is a “snake” draft, with the order determined via a random number generator. The draft overseer (a member from a returning team) will be responsible for setting the Rule 5 draft order. The new team(s) will then select keepers from the pool of unprotected players on current rosters, but no single returning franchise may lose more than an equivalent number (+1) necessary for each new team to have five keepers (rounding up one for unequal distributions; i.e., some teams may lose one keeper, and others lose two, as the number of new teams may not allow for a perfectly equal distribution). To ensure a roughly equal distribution of keepers from returning teams, one keeper must be selected from each returning team’s roster prior to an additional player being selected from the same returning team’s roster. (Example: Returning team A has a player chosen first in the snake draft. No player can then be chosen from team A until one player has been chosen from each of the remaining returning team rosters. For teams that have been abandoned (i.e., no returning owner), there is NO restriction on the number of keepers selected in the Rule 5 Draft.) Once the first round of the Rule 5 draft is complete, the returning teams will protect up to three more keepers, for a maximum of eight keepers in total, prior to the final round of the Rule 5 draft. The new team(s) will then select additional keepers from the pool of unprotected players on current rosters, up to a maximum of eight keepers in total. All keepers are subject to a minimum games played requirement before Sept 1st, so please be sure to review games played by player, as some rostered players may not be eligible for keeper selection.
Position players must appear in at least 20 Major League games, and pitchers must either appear in at least 14 Major League games or have made at least six starts, prior to September 1st in order to be eligible for keeper status at the end of the current season.
A player's salary will equal the average of the highest amount at which they were signed at any point during the current season and the most recent amount at which they were signed. The first $4 of salaries will command a 100% premium; salary amounts in excess of $4 will command a 25% premium. All salaries will be rounded up to the nearest whole dollar and deducted from the auction allocation available to their respective owners. (For example, a player with a salary of $1 would require a salary $2 in the following season, and a player with a salary of $30 would require a salary of $41 in the following season.)
