  • "Retrotisserie" League Seeks New Owners

The 1962-1964 "Retrotisserie" league is looking for two new owners to take over existing teams for the 1963-1965 season (and beyond). The league is free and a great way to relive baseball history and compete in fantasy baseball. The league is run completely through email and there is a minimal time commitment. The basic concept: each team drafts 25 players from a 3-year period. The league creator and facilitator, Jason Stubbs, provides a list of the hitters and pitchers (and their statistics) for the chosen time period. Once all the players are drafted (each team has 24 hours to draft each player although the time period is adhered to loosely), each owner reveals, in 4 separate phases, which 22 (13 hitters, 8 pitchers, and 1 extra hitter OR pitcher) of their 25 players will be used for the scoring lineup to determine the overall winner using the standard 5x5 categories. The “reveal” includes the specific year’s (1963, 1964, or 1965) statistics that are being used for each player. After the winner is determined (no prizes, just bragging rights), each team keeps 9 players and then a new draft begins for the next 3-year period; for this league it would then be 1964-1966. It’s a really interesting and fun concept, which allows for multiple drafting strategies, and you don't have to worry about injuries, slumps, and projecting player performances! If you're interested in joining the league or you'd like more information, please reply here or email Jason at retrotisseriebaseball@gmail.com.
