  • "Retrotisserie" League Seeks Owners

The 1961-1963 league is looking for a new owner to take over a team for the 1962-1964 season (and beyond).

The league is free and a great way to relive baseball history and compete in fantasy baseball. The league is run completely through email and there is a minimal time commitment.

The basic concept: each team drafts 25 players from a 3-year period. The league creator and facilitator, Jason Stubbs, provides a list of the hitters and pitchers (and their statistics) for the chosen time period. Once all the players are drafted (each team has 24 hours to draft each player although the time period is adhered to loosely), each owner reveals, in 4 separate phases, which 22 (13 hitters, 8 pitchers, and 1 extra hitter OR pitcher) of their 25 players will be used for the scoring lineup to determine the overall winner using the standard 5x5 categories. The “reveal” includes the specific year’s (1962, 1963, or 1964) statistics that is being used for each player. After the winner is determined (no prizes, just bragging rights), each team must keep 9 players and then a new draft begins for the next 3-year period; for this league it would then be 1963-1965. It’s a really interesting and fun concept, which allows for multiple drafting strategies.

If you're interested in joining the league or you'd like more information, please reply here or email Jason at retrotisseriebaseball@gmail.com.
