I've been browsing the MLB.com Statcast podcasts and am on their March 16 podcast on hit and catch probability. Is it feasible to begin calculating a hitter's "off the bat" batting average based on the aggregate of their hit probabilities for balls in play? I'd be interested in seeing how that metric compared to actual batting average and xBA.
