Having problems adding players to my MACK team

I am trying to add James Shields to my MACK team. He is not listed with the pitchers when I try to add him. If I go to another team in my league to add a player to their MACK team, he is there. ??? This has happened to two other players for different teams.

CBS 4x4 mixed league. 10 teams, no keepers, one UT, one CI and MI, 6 reserves.
yahoo 5x5 mixed h2h 12 team leauge. 2 sps, 2rp, 5pitcher slots, 6 reserves. Daily Transactions.

If you can't find him to add, it almost always means he is already added.
